About Danse Royale Ballroom StudioDanse Royale Ballroom, LLC is owned and operated by National Ballroom Dance Champion Veronica Rocco who has been teaching since 1977. Of Caribbean descent, Veronica has brought her rhythmic Caribbean background to the US since 1963 when she arrived in New York City. With a diversified background in many dance forms specially Merengue and Salsa and having trained in modern dance, ballet, jazz, clogging, square dancing, Hip Hop, and gymnastics Veronica discovered her love for dancing since a little girl while taking her ballet classes. She studied dance in her school years. When realizing the pleasure it brought her during her college years, she decided to help others enjoy the same by becoming degreed in Physical Education and Recreation at Queens College in New York. She went on to take several dance classes, to coach, judge and compete as an all around gymnast and in other sports, which increased her love for physical activity . After her college years Veronica enrolled in a Ballroom dance studio for her own pleasure and got "hooked" and started competing as an amateur in American smooth, rhythm, and Hustle but specialized in Theatre Arts because of her strong acrobatic background. Veronica's amazing feel for the "beat", her talent and her ease in expressing the music with her body are attributed to her Caribbean influence and natural talent. She soon became an instructor in 1977 and has been teaching since. Veronica trained for competition immediately and trained all of her students to do the same. Competing with several of her students and her former husband who also was an accomplished instructor for the ballroom studios in New York City, Houston Texas and Oklahoma City she went on to becoming National champion in 1979 in Miami Florida., and to winning $10,000 in 2 local Hustle competitions. Achieving a national reputation she continued teaching, performing and competing for other studios until 1994 when she started her own independent business. Veronica opened Danse Royale Ballroom in Westchester, Ohio (northern Cincinnati) in October of 2003 to help as many students as possible to learn to dance and have fun. Danse Royale Ballroom, LLC is a beautiful dance studio and was uniquely designed with your comfort in mind. It is designed with a contemporary tropical decor to provide a welcoming and comfortable non-smoking atmosphere of honesty and integrity for you, the client, to enjoy learning to dance. The ambiance is friendly and cozy to bring ease to the learning experience. The studio is equipped with a floating oak wood floor, a fully computerized audio system, mirrors, party lights, restroom and drinking water. Our hours of operation are M-F 2:00 -10:00pm and Saturdays 11:00 - 4:00pm.
